My cat used to lay under my babies bouncy seat, and if they started to cry she would roll into her back and use her paws to bounce them until they stopped crying. She would also bring them toys and get upset if I didn't go to the baby if they were crying. Cats are awesome.

My cat is a dick, he just pees on all the baby's stuff and when the baby is crying he comes t ok me for cuddles like "this thing is useless, look after me instead".

Our cat slept in our cribs in anticipation of us coming home from the hospital and generally made it known that my parents could not forget who their first baby was.

While my sister's cat isn't quite proactive enough to get them toys when they cry, she will rush over to the babies and then look at my sister like "Are you just going to let this shit happen? FIX IT!".

Most definitely! My partner's grandmother credits her Siamese for saving his mom's life. Little miss kitty wouldn't stop screaming at them until they got up and followed her to the baby's room. She even jumped in the crib to get them to look. Thankfully they did because she was choking!
Tldr: Cats are genuinely intelligent and amazing creatures, without them my partner and his mom wouldn't be here.

Cats can recognize that babies are human kittens and cats often raise kittens communally. So it's not too surprising when they watch out for babies like they do with kittens but it's still amazing and gives me all the warm fuzzies to see! I love cats so much ðŸ˜❤

My friends have a little girl who has nightmares. The cat beats them to the room every time she wakes up crying and cuddles her until she falls asleep. Then the cat gets up and sits in guard duty at the door for half an hour until she's sure she's okay. She won't even leave for food. Would have thought they were making it up until I was over there one night and saw it myself.
